Tamara Vazquez
President

Founded in 1996, ABACUS RECRUITING'S Executive Division has rapidly grown into the most respected recruiting firm in St. Louis. The firm started in response to a lack of upper management accounting recruiting firms in St. Louis. ABACUS started specializing within the Big 4 firms, which then began referring many of their clients. The company later added a consulting (temp) division and now offers placement in general management areas such as operations, purchasing, information technology, human resources and marketing. In 2004, ABACUS expanded beyond St. Louis to manage national placements. Satisfied clients and candidates are our greatest asset.

Tamara Vazquez, founder of the firm, is a professional with 20 years of experience in the recruiting and sales industry. She maintains a broad network of acquaintances, colleagues and friends within both the search profession and the corporate community. She draws from local, regional and national resources. She regards this network of contacts, combined with her years of experience in the executive search field and her acquired knowledge of research techniques, as the most valuable asset she brings to any assignment. Tamara holds a bachelor's degree in business from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale.

ABACUS RECRUITING'S Executive Division started out of Tamara's home, focusing on accounting and financial management positions in the St. Louis area. In the late '90s, the market exploded with many upper level accounting needs due to the year 2000 project. In 1997, ABACUS added an additional recruiter and moved its offices to Creve Coeur, MO. Now located in the Chesterfield Valley, the company has five employees, including three recruiters. RubinBrown purchased ABACUS in 2004 in order to provide its clients with upper management level staffing. Tamara Vazquez was retained to manage the operation. ABACUS RECRUITING'S Executive Division has tripled in size and continues to hire experienced recruiters.
